Are you on the lookout for a dining experience that ignites the senses and adds a touch of elegance to a night out in Brighton? Embers, a newly opened restaurant in the heart of the city, might just be the fiery culinary adventure you've been searching for. With a tantalising menu and an ambiance that strikes the perfect balance between casual and elegant, Embers offers a unique dining experience that's perfect for a girls' night out, a romantic date, or a special occasion.

This Sunday, it was my precious doggy's 3rd birthday and the soft launch of the Sunday Roast dining menu at Embers. To celebrate both occasions, my parents, our dog and I visited for lunch. Spoiler Alert: it was phenomenal.

We chose to sit outside as the weather was beautifully sunny despite it being late October, and even in these autumnal months it was very comfortable. The table was given water upon sitting down and the new Sunday lunch menus. It's the little details like automatically being given water that really makes a place feel welcoming and notable.

We ordered a refreshing gin cocktail, a non alcoholic cocktail and a beer, and let me tell you whatever was in the mocktail was magnificent and I shall be ordered it again 100%. My mum who chose the cocktail said on it's arrival to our table "okay, time for a photo" and by that she meant a picture of her and her drink. If you'd like to know where I get my diva ways from, look no further!

The new menu had four lunch options to choose from: pork shoulder, beef rump, a trio of meats (the pork, the beef and lamb & mint sausages) and the vegan option a flamed aubergine. Each roast is served with roasted potatoes, roasted carrots, charred broccoli, hispi cabbage, a cauliflower cheese puree and a sage & onion crumb. The platters are designed to feed two people, and if you're visiting in an odd number group - such as we were - they can accommodate the portions.

We ordered one pork shoulder and one beef rump between the three of us, which we shared together. That is one thing about Embers that I can truly appreciate, the sharing of a meal, a theme which heavily features throughout the restaurant and their usual menu. The idea of sharing a meal together taken rather literally as it's all small plates and sharing 'centrepieces' which are split between the table.

Safe to say, my dog loved it. A birthday well spent in his eyes. My parents throughly enjoyed it too, my dad's favourite part - the pork shoulder and apple sauce. My mum's the gravy although she did enjoy it all as she went on about every element of the roast and it's unique flavour. After we'd finished our platters and were 'main course full' (dessert full has a whole separate stomach in my body) my mum said "I can't eat any more but I want the flavour"! If that isn't a testament to its brilliance then I don't know what to tell you.

As for my opinion, the only thing I wished was on my plate was a yorkshire pudding - a personal staple for any Sunday roast, but regardless a solid 10/10.
